This long-awaited feature of Altium Designer (Altium®) is about to be released! Rookies will now understand why every menu items are greyed out 😄 "License lost" alert is coming in the future 24.5 release, currently in closed beta state: "When attempting to save a document and connection to your license has been lost for some reason (for example, through inactivity), an enhanced error dialog now appears, alerting you to the fact that editing/saving capabilities are not currently possible while you are no longer using a valid license. If your computer was in sleep/hibernation mode, automatic reconnection to the license will be attempted, where possible. In addition, access to the License Management page is provided, where you can check and manually re-establish use of a valid license. The error dialog also provides access to a focused Knowledge Base article, detailing steps for preventing/resolving licensing issues." https://lnkd.in/e6cRbyWN

What is this?! 😲 Selective wave soldering, of course! This process is perfect for medium to high volume production of electronic boards, if you can't live without Through-Hole parts that aren't pin-through-paste capable. Anaïs Massiot attended the tech day organized by CIF Circuit Imprimé Français and IFTEC (institut IFTEC). Thank you for sharing with us how to avoid mistakes and help us bridge the gap between design and fabrication.

Modern art Isn't it? 👁 Here is a close-up view of our latest #electronic board layout, involving a 0.5mm pitch BGA, laser microvias, via-in-pad and controlled impedance traces. This type of design requires a deep knowledge of how a circuit board is manufactured, if you don't want to go in a dead end and have to start again from scratch! 👷♂️ Fortunately, this is what we think we manage very well: gathering all the industrial constraints right before we start designing. #RightTheFirstTime

[FR] Et si on vous aidait à donner vie à vos produits ? [EN] What if you can get our help to bring life to your products? English reader? Making it work is even better! Powering up a custom electronic board for the first time requires taking some precautions, above all for the very first version. Here's a list : 1️⃣ Visual inspection, to check all components are in place, correctly welded. 2️⃣ Continuity and short-circuit measurements, to avoid any breakdown at effective power up. 3️⃣ Power On with voltage and current consumption monitoring. 4️⃣ Voltage measurements, to verify all on-board power supplies are working as expected. 5️⃣ Thermal inspection, to check there is no thermal runaway and to measure dissipation performances. Well, ready to go? If you're in doubt, now you know who to contact 😉
